The purpose of Group Ministry at JCI is to help people make friends and grow spiritually. It’s that simple. We desire to help people connect with God and connect with people within community. In fact, we believe that spiritual growth best takes place in community. At JCI we have four different Group opportunities to consider.
Hundreds of volunteers make JCI happen! Throughout the week and on Sundays, teams of volunteers serve together and develop meaningful friendships. Every Serve Group begins with a team huddle, where a Team Leader will facilitate a brief discussion and prepare your heart to serve. Take a moment to fill out the form so that we can assist you in getting plugged into a Serve Group.
Connect Groups provide environments where meaningful spiritual conversations can take place. In these groups of 6-16 individuals, you will be encouraged to live out your faith in practical ways as you develop meaningful friendships with others. We offer two semesters of Connect Groups per year. The semesters begin each August and January, and break during the summer. These Groups take place on the JCI campus, throughout Lee’s Summit and in the surrounding communities. Take a moment and search for a potential group near you.
Care Groups are available to minister to people who are hurting and need some spiritual care. The two groups we have available are Divorce Care and Grief Care. You can sign up for these through this link.
Equip Groups are designed to equip you and help you to spiritually. One of them you can consider now is a Follower’s Made group. These groups are designed to help you develop Christ-like character and discover your personal ministry calling on your life. Follower’s Made Groups consist of 10-12 individuals who will utilize the Followers Made curriculum. The Followers Made material requires a six-month commitment. Fill out the form if you are interested in receiving further information. More options will be rolled out throughout 2019 so check back for more developments.
