Our Story
In December 2010 Christian and Danielle Newsome and their family moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri with the dream of planting a church that would see people far from God become passionate Christians whose lives would make a difference in the world.
On January 8th, 2011, 5 families gathered in a living room with nearly 8 inches of snow on the ground to commit to seeing this church become a reality.
More than a year later hundreds of people from all over Kansas City call Journey Church International their church “home”. Our church currently is supporting ministry on 4 continents around the world (North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe) as well as in Central America, and we are feeding hungry children every week locally in Lee's Summit and ministering monthly in downtown Kansas City. We continue to pray that God will send us people who are looking for a church just like ours, and we would love for you to check out our church this Sunday to see if it meets the needs of you and your family.
